BLOG
Blog was an artist initiative inspired by the use of online blogging as a form of creative expression, and involved sharing artwork, digital media, and textual work by artists. There are also works posted on the First Peoples' Map of B.C. artist profile. Blog was funded by the First Peoples' Cultural Council as part of a larger project funded by the Canada Council for the Arts Digital Initiatives, and included artists showcases throughout February 2022. We thank all of the artists who contributed content to Blog, as well as the support from First Peoples communities in British Columbia and Québec, including the Songhees, Scia’new, T’Sou-ke, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, Lil̓wat7ul, Heiltsuk, Kanien’keha:k and Métis, along with many other Indigenous peoples whose welcome and knowledge sharing during this project made our work meaningful.
I believe every art form is an expression of self whether this is intended or not. I always have at least four different types of sketchbooks, but I always focus on one at a time. I use it as an outlet to express my individualism, and convey emotions that I find are too abstract or complex for words. - E. Phillips
